Duxbury Bay Cooler

INGREDIENTS

7 cups Chilled water
⅔ cup Freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4 lemons)
⅓ cup Freshly squeezed lime juice (approximately 2 limes)
⅔ cup Simple syrup*
1 tsp SalterieOne Classic Sea Salt
Lemon/Lime slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Mix water, simple syrup, lemon & lime juice together in a large pitcher.
  • Stir in the SalterieOne Classic Sea Salt.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with lemon/lime slices.

*Simple Syrup: Place 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Allow to cool. May be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. To make an herb-infused simple syrup, follow the same process and add ½ c of your favorite fresh herb to the sugar and water. We find mint or basil work well with this recipe. Once the water and sugar boils, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3-5 minutes. Allow to cool to room temperature. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer and press on the solids to remove as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Store as you would a traditional simple syrup.

TIPS

✧  Taste the lemonade before and after adding the SalterieOne Classic Sea Salt! It is amazing to see how much sweeter it becomes when you add it in!
✧  For a little fizz, substitute 4 cups of club soda for 4 cups of the water.
✧  Maximize the amount of juice from each lemon by storing them at room temperature and rolling them on the counter before you juice.
✧  To transform this recipe into an adult beverage, rub a lemon slice around the rim of each drinking glass and dip in SalterieOne Classic Sea Salt. Add a serving of a vodka or tequila of choice to each glass, then fill with Duxbury Bay Cooler and ice. Stir and serve.
